Bridges signifies resilience: a journey from darkness to light. It also signifies a connection between myself and you… and now I'd like us to use this to connect. Please use this platform as a message-board to share your stories of resilience, strength and appreciation for yourself and others. I can't wait to read them.

I never felt that I was good enough from a young age. Other kids made fun of me, other kids were popular, I was always the last choice. I hated the way I looked, other kids had nice things, mine were hand me downs. So as I got older my inner feelings became even stronger. I started looking for acceptance in all of the wrong places. My depression was so bad that all I wanted to do was die l envied the person I knew who was killed in an auto accident. I was losing my grip on life completely. Then someone I barely knew saw what no one else did. She gave me a phone number that was a therapist who saved my life. Now I love life and I have experienced so many wonderful things that if I had committed suicide when I had wanted to I would have missed. I am good enough.
